Mywaves, a company that delivers Web video entertainment directly to consumers' mobile phones, announced Auto Channels, a new way for users to personalize their mobile video viewing options. Auto Channels works the way online search works on the Web; users specify a search phrase and Mywaves then searches the Internet to find and automatically deliver relevant videos to users' mobile phones for free. In addition, it checks for new videos that match the search phrase and adds them to the channel daily. Users can be notified via a text message when new videos are available for viewing.

Since its debut in December last year, nearly 300,000 users in 90 countries have checked out Mywaves' mobile video service. Mywaves is currently adding about 40,000 new sign-ups a week.

"We believe the tremendous momentum behind Mywaves is due to the simple fact that consumers love to choose from a vast array of content and they can personalize their own channels and watch what they want to watch, wherever they are," said Rajeev Raman founder and CEO of Mywaves. "The addition of Auto Channels further enhances the users experience because now Mywaves does all the work of content discovery on users' behalf."

Mywaves is a free service that provides Web-style entertainment on the mobile phone, offering choice from thousands of video channels, whether it's professional programming, user-generated content or personal videos. The Mywaves service works globally across all 3G, EDGE, EV-DO carriers and most video-capable mobile phones. It is comprised of a rich, easy-to-use website coupled with software that is downloaded to a mobile phone. The website allows consumers to discover, choose and personalize the mobile content that is automatically delivered and updated to their mobile phones.
