Someone has been building gnome homes in a park in Kansas city. They are carved into bottoms of trees and they appear to be uninhabited.

KSHB informs that they have turned up almost overnight in Overland Park. Nobody knows who is building them and why, but officials suspect that it's just someone's creative way to brighten up their day.

"You know, I think it's bringing smiles and laughter to those who are finding out about it. That's exactly what we need sometimes in our lives is a little bit of happiness, joy and truly just laughter" Sean Reilly, spokesperson for Overland Park, comments.

Two homes, complete with colorful wooden doors with complex detailing, have been uncovered on the Tomahawk Creek Trail. Authorities believe that more small houses could be uncovered.
