14 DAY TRIAL // A photo of "eerie" circles appearing carved in ice atop a pond in Eden, New York is building a viral buzz.
The location was photographed by resident Peggy Gervase who lives by the pond, on a snowy day.
In an interview with WGRZ, she explains that after posting the snapshot, she has received several comments about the holes in the ice resembling crop circles. Many believe that the crop formations are allegedly formed by aliens using high-tech equipment.
Asked if she thinks that aliens have created the circular patterns in the ice, Gervase dismisses the possibility.
"I'm not that far gone yet," she jokingly responds.
Life Science explains that the phenomenon could be caused by a number of things – gases or warm water springs rising to the surface could be melting the ice.
