A woman has come across the unusual carcass of an animal off Luis Siret Beach in Villaricos, Spain.

The local could not identify the mysterious beast and the incident was brought to the attention of PROMAR (Programa en Defensa de la Fauna Marina-Sea Life Defense Program).

“A lady found one part and we helped her retrieve the rest. [...] We have no idea what it was. It really stank,” comments Maria Sanches, a Civil Protection officer in Cuevas.

The creature is about 13 feet (4 meters) long and horns appear to be sticking out of its carcass. However, Paco Toledano, speaking for PROMAR has identified the so-called horns as bones.

While performing genetic testing on the animal remains is not possible due to the large cost of the procedure, the scientific community is currently working to identify the beast.
