This year's edition of iF Design Award China revealed a new and elegant BenQ mobile phone, named S7 and presented for the first time when wining the award in the Entertainment and Communication category, one of the most notable distinctions in the Asia-Pacific area. The award is sponsored by the International Forum Design from Hanover, Germany, the organization that provides design services and holds annual design awards.

It's not the first time when a mobile phone appears at the International Forum Design before its official launch, as in the past different other models were seen there for the first time.

There is no official information from BenQ regarding the S7, but on the International Forum Design website it's said the phone is 3G enabled and it's targeted for business users, combining integrated GPS, personal digital assistant and digital media into one classy device. Apparently, BenQ S7 packs two cameras: a standard one, on the rear panel and a frontal one for video calls. The phone has a minimalistic but very good design, a stylish keyboard and a cool silvery metal look, resembling the BenQ-Siemens S68 model, although it's far more elegant. Not that the S68 isn't.

In terms of functionality and features, the S7 handset could be the elegant version of BenQ M7, which is also a 3G enabled mobile phone but it's targeted for outdoor users and it is specially designed to prevent natural elements like sand and water to damage it.

Among the other mobile devices awarded at the iF Design Award China 2007 we can name Benq T33, Samsung F308, Lenovo S9, Lenovo i817, Lenovo i716, Mio DigiWalker Lovebird and Mio DigiWalker A702.

The official release for BenQ S7 is unknown, as well as its price or any other details, but we should expect more info about it to be made public pretty soon.
