The adventure game isn't looking so good, unfortunately

The first trailer for Myst 3D, the upcoming re-release of the classic adventure game for the Nintendo 3DS, has just appeared and, while it still presents the traditional Myst gameplay, it doesn’t really look that impressive.

Myst is probably one of the most popular adventures games ever made, withstanding the test of time almost perfectly, especially since it’s been re-released with very few changes on a variety of devices.

Now, with the game coming to the 3DS with “sharp 3D environments”, you can bet that plenty of fans are looking forward to once again immersing themselves into the adventure game.

As you can see in the trailer above, however, the upper screen of the 3DS, the one which actually displays 3D footage, is barely used. Instead of showing the environments or useful things, most of the times it just presents the logo of the game.

Hopefully, some things will be changed until the game’s March release, so that those looking for a much more immersive Myst experience won’t just be tricked into buying the same old game once again.
