The old myTouch 3G is about to receive one of the last software updates before the smartphone no longer supports sending Froyo updates to this model.

According to T-Mobile USA, this update will not be available to Original myTouch 3G on Android 1.5 or 1.6, myTouch 3G with headphone jack and myTouch 3G LE smartphones for the same reason mentioned above.

Google is no longer supporting these smartphones, thus they will not receive other software updates in the future.

Starting this week, T-Mobile USA has started to deliver software version FRK76C to original myTouch 3G devices (no headphone jack) on Android 2.2 Froyo (software FRG83 or FRG83D).

This update is to apply the Google security fix and is deployed by T-Mobile USA OTA (over the air) through February 27.
