Why would a half-finished site be launched, I wonder

MySpace has always been known to have the shoddy, crappy layout that you just have to put up with, because of the many features that the site offers. If it was eye-candy you were after, you'd either be off playing some fully supported game on your latest FX 8800GT or you'd be browsing the wallpapers over at deviantart.com.

But you're not, you're on MySpace with your friends and it looks like the site would do anything to keep you there, including foreseeing everything you might want or providing all that you've asked for. Today was about an attempt to move to the internet MTV's Unplugged in their own rendition and I can full heartedly say that they have failed miserably with that. Not because of the content, which is extraordinarily little or about James Blunt (who, by the way, managed to annoy me to death by saying goodbye to his lover a couple of years ago on every single radio station out there, it was like the whole nation was breaking up, and just with their best friend that became lover or vice versa), but because of the interface that besides looking like it's 1995, it also has a number of sliders that just do squat.

It's brilliant, it has sliders to make it look more like a recording studio, but assigns them no function, not even the simplest of them all, that is VOLUME! Apart from that, it's a good idea, honing on the things that make MySpace unique on the Internet, the online events and performances, the interaction between users and all that. You can vote what artist to be invited next, and it looks like the favorite song will also be eligible for voting as well. Oh, perhaps with the adding of more artists, users will be able to mix and match the songs from different sessions and then buy them or just stream them from their MySpace pages. The price for five songs right now is 14 bucks, a bit steep I think.

If you like James Blunt, hurry up and watch the interview, the atmosphere it has created being quite intimate. If you don't, vote him off. Cheers!
