During an event entitled Google Factory Tour, Google officials announced and presented the new services prepared by the giant of online searches.
Among these services, the one that aroused the journalists' interest was Fusion which gives users the possibility to personalize the www.google.com start page by using the white space beneath the search field to display various information: Gmail inbox
content, news or weather forecast.
Analysts believe this service is another step made by Google towards its transformation in a portal, the features accompanying it strongly resembling with the ones provided by MyYahoo.com.
Despite these facts, Google officials outlined that this change has nothing to do with a portal, its sole purpose being to allow users to better organize Google's services.
In their vision, what sets Google Fusion apart from the competition's services is the easier configuration of the personalized page and the reduced number of options.
Google Fusion is already accessible in beta version at labs.google.com, provided that you have a Google account.
