14 DAY TRIAL // Xbox LIVE fans who are also owners of devices based on Google’s Android operating system can now take the Xbox LIVE experience with them on the go with the newly released My Xbox LIVE app.
The application was previously made available for Apple’s iOS devices, and it is now up for download through the Google Play Store as well.
The software was made available for most Android-based devices, providing users with access to achievements, the possibility to connect with their friends on Xbox LIVE, and the option to change their avatars while on the go.
The new application will also provide users with the ability to read and edit their full LIVE profile (including name, bio, and motto), and it will also enable them to edit their friends list, add new friends and the like.
“Take your Xbox LIVE experience wherever you go with the My Xbox LIVE app. Track and compare your achievements, connect with your Xbox LIVE friends, and change up your 3D Avatar,” Microsoft notes in the application’s description.
“Review all the recent great games you and your friends love to play and compare achievements with them. Access Xbox Spotlight feeds, get breaking news from Xbox LIVE, game tips and tricks, gamer spotlight and much more.”
Those Android users who would like to take advantage of the features that this application has to offer to them will need to log in to it with an Xbox LIVE account.
The software offers support for all Android devices running under the 2.2 or newer versions of the platform, as long as they sport a WGVA screen resolution or higher.
My Xbox LIVE is offered for free, and it is different from the Xbox SmartGlass application that was made official last week at the E3 conference. The software is not tied to Xbox 360 gaming.
