My Piano, eMedia Music's latest addition to its My Music line of programs for Mac OS X and Windows, is now available for $29.95. The Piano-teaching tool is aimed at six years olds and above, featuring video demonstrations and an animated character named Pam the Piano. Piano lessons have been written by Julliard School of Music former instructor, Irma Justicia, M.A.

"Research has proven that children who play an instrument do
better in school, make friends more easily, are more creative, learn self-discipline and gain self-confidence. In eMedia My Piano, an animated character named Pam the Piano leads kids through lessons by Irma Irene Justicia, M.A. My Piano covers the basics, such as learning your notes, counting rhythm, and moves on to playing chords, reading music, playing songs, and much more."

Emediamusic.com also says that an animated keyboard, which plugs into the Mac, shows kids where to put their fingers, while MIDI tracks' tempo can be adjusted so kids can learn at a pace suitable to them. Special features such as a metronome and digital recorder are included. "My Piano is the perfect way to introduce children to playing piano!" eMedia Music claims.

Pam the Piano, the upper-mentioned animated character, explains everything so kids don't miss out on anything relevant to their activity while striking keys. Videos are also available to aid kids in their creative process. For example, kids will be exampled proper hand position, shown note names, how to read music notation, how to play accompaniments and, of course, more.

Remember, My Piano uses video demonstrations and an animated character named Pam the Piano to teach kids aged 6 and above how to play. The program also allows kids to record their own performances. System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.2 or later. Unfortunately, a demo version of the software is not available.

My Piano for Mac costs $29.95.
