Kim Kardashian doesn't do anything for ratings. In her first ever interview with Oprah for her Next Chapter on OWN, the reality star opens up about her 72-day marriage to Kris Humphries and the controversial way in which she rose to international fame.

Asked point-blank by Oprah whether she married to boost ratings, Kim explains that not getting married would have actually done that, not the other way.

One thing is certain, though, she did not date and wed Kris for money and publicity, she stresses (quotes via Radar Online).

“We have an amazing fan base that watches the show – we don’t do anything for ratings. I was in love: I wanted the life that I always pictured my fairytale life to be,” she explains.

Had it not been Kris, she would have married some other man and she still would have had this extraordinarily fancy ceremony.

“I would’ve had an extravagant wedding anyway, to end that relationship was a risk in itself to lose ratings and I had to take the risk to be honest to myself,” Kim says.

The first signs that Kris wasn't the one for her started popping up shortly after they moved together.

“I saw how our relationship was. I don’t want to get into the small things, but once we moved in, I knew he was not the one,” she explains.

In the same interview, the most famous of the Kardashians also calls the divorce and the year that followed “like an epiphany,” in the sense that it helped her better know herself, become more mature and more responsible.

As for that tape that made her a star, she maintains she did not leak it and that she was devastated when it got out but, as she said before as well, she had to take the lemons and make lemonade.
