Adrian Mutu seems to be having a hard time getting out of trouble. After his well-known drug-suspension, the Romanian striker is again keeping the headlines for a violent incident before the Romania - Bulgaria match in early September. A restaurant waiter is accusing the Fiorentina striker of beating him one night before the match. And his story goes like this.

While dining in a Mamaia restaurant before the Bulgaria clash, some of Victor Piturca's players were asked to be taken some photos by Gheorghe Grosu, their waiter. Most of them were ok with that, but not Mutu. According
to the waiter, Adrian repeatedly asked him to leave the table while also threatening him.

After a few minutes, since Grosu wouldn't leave the premises, Mutu got infuriated and started mocking the waiter. Grosu called him "a junkie" and left the table. Still, the action doesn't stop here.

The same night, a few bodyguards allegedly came back to the restaurant and asked Grosu to come with them. They told the waiter that Mutu wants to apologize and asked him to join them to the hotel where Romania's squad was accommodated.

Once he stepped in Mutu's room, Grosu told the media the striker took an iron barrel and started hitting him. Mutu also punched his "opponent" and, if he hadn't been stopped by roommate Cosmin Contra (Getafe), he probably would have suffered more severe traumas.

Mutu first denied having met with Grosu in the hotel, but his coach told him off during a TV show. Victor Piturca admitted seeing Grosu in the hotel later that evening, put paid no attention to the waiter.

The medical examination showed that Grosu was not lying about the wounds and another piece of the puzzle was fitting. Despite wanting to keep a low profile at the beginning, Grosu pressed charges against the Fiorentina striker and expects him to pay for what he did.

"I don't want money. I just want the people to see how much of a man he is. He is a good player but, as a human being, he's zero. I will go through with this trial no matter what. The Romanian supporters have a right to know that Mutu is nothing but a brawler", said Grosu.

Mutu denied all such allegations, blaming the Romanian media for trying to create a new scandal around his professional life.
