The Mutter development team announced the immediate availability for download of the 3.9.2 development release of the Mutter window manager for the GNOME desktop environment.

Mutter 3.9.2 adds the meta_window_can_close() function, adds support for string-array preferences, improves tracking of the focus window, adds an API to freeze/unfreeze the keyboard, and removes the overlay_group function.

This development release of Mutter also fixes the shade window action and a potential race condition with _NET_WM_MOVERESIZE. Moreover, it now grabs and emits a signal when XK_ISO_Next_Group is pressed.

Various other bugs have been repaired in Mutter 3.9.2, and the Slovak & Norwegian Bokmål translations have been updated. For more details, please check out the official raw changelog.

Download Mutter 3.9.2 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended to be used for testing purposes only.
