The GNOME developers behind the Mutter window manager application for the GNOME desktop environment have released the stable 3.8.4 version and development 3.9.5 version, which squash annoying bugs.

Mutter 3.8.4 adds a workaround for bug 701224, related to failure of bringing back the shell interface after a fullscreen game in some situations, fixes stuck and sluggish pointers moving windows, touch screen issues, rendering of large background images, and reduces log spew.

Mutter 3.9.5 has been modified to no longer select touch events on the stage and to no longer queue redraws for obscured regions. Timestamp of global keybinding events can now be exported, and miscellaneous bugs have been fixed. For more details, please read the official raw changelog. Download Mutter 3.8.4 and Mutter 3.9.5 right now from Softpedia. Remember that the later is a development version and it should NOT be installed on production machines. It is intended for testing purposes only.
