He was a rock god and one of the hottest male celebrities of all times, constantly flocked by groupies and admirers. However, Jim Morrison never understood what was so wrong with being a little fatter.

The video above is an audio of a recently uncovered 1969 interview he did with Howard Smith of The Village Voice, with illustrations by Patrick Smith.

The animations are nothing short of superb but the beauty of the video lies mostly in Morrison’s deep, gorgeous voice, as he muses on the beauty of being fat and, at the same time, on why it’s so “wrong” to be plumper.

Granted, we all know today why it’s wrong to be overweight, because countless studies drove the point home on the devastating effects obesity has on the body. At 150 pounds (68 kg), Morrison was far from fat, even if he was plumper than before.

Still, he makes a good point: stick thin isn’t the only option. Not unless you’re dead-set for airborne. I kid, I kid.
