Must See: Computer Users Confused by the New Windows 8 [Video]

We’re days away from the official debut of the new Windows 8 operating system and Chris Pirillo, founder of LockerGnome and the one who interviewed his dad on the new OS, hit the streets to find out people’s reaction to the new Windows flavor.

It goes without saying that Windows 8 is a much more advanced operating system, but the newly introduced “Start Screen” continues to scare away users.

Shutting down a Windows 8-powered computer may seem a bit more difficult than it sounds, at least when it comes to normal, non-geeky users.

“That’s the most confusing Windows I’ve even been on so far,” one of those interviewed concluded.

Truth is, he never got past the “Start Screen” to see the Windows 8 OS in all its beauty.

It's a move forward and change... unfortunately I do not see Windows 8 being as big of a hit as Microsoft thinks it will be. Most will stick to Windows 7 or upgrade to 7, but that's it. IMO, W8 looks just too...clunky I guess. I don't care for the so-called "Metro" or "modern UI" design. The OS might be okay, just the design I'm not thrilled about personally.

I won't go with Windows 8
It's just the OS that windows 7, God bless, did not manage to be
I agree there are more customizable options, but it's intended for touch devices
Seems like Microsoft forgot about us (the guys that build windows apps) desktop users

There is nothing exciting in windows 8 nothing worthy to be called a upgrade much less a whole new operating system , to me its just barebones windows 7 with that ugly not metro anymore what ever its called now UI
infact i would have to purchase a lot of things to make up for what they strip out of windows 7 just to use it like windows media ceneter .. no thank you microsoft , seems better off to just keep windows 7 and enjoy the things windows 8 users wont have .. like a start button media center no ugly forced UI , as for tablets or phones lmao ? failure
