And our little science lesson - early man as an artist

The DS Lite Zelda mod is kind of a sequel really. Just last month, Ramon J. Stokes presented the world with the Zelda Case Mod for the Wii and it looked (and probably still does), better than any case mod out there. The Zelda crafted DS Lite has been made by the same gifted Ramon J. Stokes and is currently on auction on eBay, just like the Wii.

Some may say that a case mod has absolutely no purpose whatsoever, which is totally wrong. Since the early days of man, when hunting was part of every day's activities, in order to keep warm and grab a bite, one day man discovered fire. By using it in different activities, early man discovered that he could tenderize meat, reducing time and energy wasted chewing on raw meat. Don't go anywhere, there's a point to all of this.

Learning to tenderize meat, the time it took to feed was reduced; thus man started to think of other activities, more entertaining for the soul. So, with the plants and tools at hand, early humans began artistic work, painting cave walls and sculpting different materials like soft stones or wood.

The purpose of such actions didn't in any way put more food on the cave's floor, nor did it provide early man with thicker clothing, which was pretty much all they needed back then. The sole reason why man started to draw, paint and sculpt was because even from early days, humans have aesthetic sense.

The DS Zelda case mod is pretty much the same thing. The DS remains perfectly operational, only it looks better. The only difference is that Ramon J. Stokes is actually getting something out if not the whole deal.
