iOS developer tap tap tap has recently announced a sale on its flagship Camera+ application for iPhone and iPod touch, with the app being available for $0.99 still on Apple’s iTunes App Store. The developer did not specify when the offer might end.

Re-introduced in the App Store late last year following a rejection by Apple over a function that remapped the iPhone's volume button to trigger the camera shutter, Camera+ is a powerful photography application for iOS devices.

Thanks to update 2.0 in December, the app now boasts advanced zooming, focus, and lighting capabilities, a useful shooting preferences panel, timer and burst shooting modes, Cyanotype, Tailfins, and Depth of Field effects (complete with sliders to adjust effect amount), and more.

Camera+ 2.0 also delivered new borders, including Light Mat, Dark Mat, Round White, Round Black, Offset, Light Grit, Dark Grit, Viewfinder, Old-TImey, Film, and Sprockets.

Users can purchase additional effects directly from within the app (via in-app purchase).

A 2.1 release of Camera+ announced earlier this month delivered performance improvements, more instances of the camera button so that users can instantly get to shooting from almost anywhere in the app, improved Vintage, Offset, Film, and Sprockets borders, and tons of bug fixes.

According to developer tap tap tap, version 2.2 is on its way with some brand new features.

“One thing we didn’t focus on for 2.1 is any revolutionary, new features. But you’ll definitely want to come back soon for version 2.2. That’s all we’ll say about this for now,” the studio states.

Camera+ is one of TIME magazine’s “50 Best iPhone Apps” for 2011, and the winner of the Best Visual Design, Best Photography App category from the Best App Ever Awards.

As developer tap tap tap puts it, “It’s all about one thing… GREAT PHOTOS!”

Although it requires an iPhone or iPod touch to take pictures, Camera+ works with iPads as well, allowing users to edit their existing photos to achieve amazing results.

Camera + requires iOS 3.1 or later.
