Ableton AG and Image-Line have announced fresh updates for their music production and mixing software for Mac users.

Ableton Live 8.2.5 introduces "full compatibility" with OS X Lion, according to Ableton AG, as well as better sync capabilities with external MIDI hardware.

The Ableton Suite 8 (8.2.5) installer includes Live Packs for Amp, Collision, Operator, Electric, Sampler, Analog, Tension, Latin Percussion, Drum Machines, Sound Objects Lite and the PDF manual.

Moving on to Deckadance, Image-Line’s popular DJ mixing application, the software has received “some welcome updates,” according to the Belgian development studio, including:

· A font size option in the 'Setup window > Global settings > Browser settings'. · Song manager resize buttons. Located top right next to the search window. · 5 star rating tags now read from mp3 files at song import (ID3V2 format - WMP, MediaMonkey, Traktor etc). · Improved the low equalizer band design (low shelf) and behavior of kill buttons (Kill - Low + Mid + High = no-pass). · Changed the behavior of the sync button to left = momentary, right = lock.

According to Image-Line, Deckadance offers open support for the widest range of Time Codes (DVS CD/Vinyl) and compatibility with all MIDI compliant controllers.
