Mushkin Intros Volta and Joule Series PSUs

Seeking to provide “value and enthusiast power solutions,” Mushkin Enhanced has recently announced its latest series of power supplies aimed at systems running heavy loads and overclocking tasks. The company has introduced four fresh models, with power ranging between 500W and 1.2kW, making them ideal for enthusiasts and end-users wanting to push their systems to new heights of performance. The 500W and 600W PSUs make up the Volta series, whereas the stronger 1000W and 1200W models represent the Joule line.

"Our new PSUs provide value and enthusiast power solutions. The value conscious builders will be pleased with the output levels and connector options of the Volta series. The Joule units will fuel overclocked components with clean power; allowing the most hardcore enthusiasts to reach new speeds and levels of stability. Both units distribute their power responsibly, with up to 85% efficiency," stated Brian Flood, director of product development, Mushkin Enhanced.

The 85% efficiency is not unheard of, but for power supplies of over 1,000W, it means quite a bit. The Joule PSUs offer the massive dose of power needed to feed CPUs and GPUs. The devices will keep them fully fed even under heavy workloads or when pushing their clock speeds over the top. The 1kW and 1.2kW Joule series power supplies are also ideal for multi-GPU configurations.

Less mighty but equally feature-rich are the products in the Volta series. With 500W and 600W, respectively, they are very well tailored for professional and gaming applications and even for enthusiasts. In addition, all the products are designed with thermally controlled 120mm fans, with an LED light colored according to the user's choice (R/G/B/off). The fans operate with a very low sound output.

The Volta power supplies have a single 12V rail and are priced at $80 (500W) and $90 (600W), whereas the 1000W and 1200W Joule units have no less than six 12V rails and cost $225 and $250, respectively. Further information may be found on Mushkin's official website.
