Mushkin has just announced the introduction of its second generation of Volta and Joule power supplies series, which range from 500W to a full 1000W and target budget-conscious users as well as enthusiasts and gamers, who seek higher wattage PSUs.

In the Volta series Mushkin has introduced two new-generation models which are rated at 500W and 650W of maximum output power and feature an advanced thermal and acoustics design, modular cables, as well as six SATA power cables for multi-drive and RAID systems.

The more powerful 650W unit is capable to deliver 43W (combined) on the two 12V rails available, each one of these being rated at 22A.

Compared to Volta, the more powerful Joule series features three new models which are rated at 700W, 800W and 1000W of maximum output power while also featuring 80 PLUS Bronze certification, active PFC, 8-pin PCIe power connectors as well as lower ripple and better voltage regulation.

The most powerful unit of the series has four 12V rails which, combined, are capable of delivering 76A (912W) of power.

“Mushkin power supplies keep getting better and better. We have reached ever-growing levels of success with our power supply products, and our new units deliver clean, smooth power at extremely high levels of efficiency,” said Brian Flood, director of product development at Mushkin.

“With the best prices on the market coupled with 80 PLUS certifications, our Joule Series is the most compelling choice for high-end users.

“Customers of all kinds will recognize Mushkin's reputation for quality when choosing our new Volta power supplies,” concluded the company's rep.

Both PSU series (except for the 500W Volta) are available right now for purchase form Mushkin's website as well as from various online and brick-and-mortar retailers.

The 650W Volta unit is priced at $59.99 while the Joule models range in price from $103.50 to $164.99.
