Since the appearance of new CPUs and motherboards practically demands new memory as well, Mushkin decided it was time to show off its Radioactive Series, currently made up of three kits of high-end RAM.

Since DDR3 has practically become the norm, at least as far as the gaming and enthusiast markets are concerned, Mushkin delivered three kits.

All three members of the Radioactive Series operate on a current of 1.65V, but they differ from each other as far as latencies and, of course, capacities go.

Two kits have a capacity of 6 GB, being composed of three 2GB modules each, one of which has a frequency of 1,600 MHz, while the other one works at 2,000 MHz.

The 2,000 MHz one has latencies of 8-10-8-27, while the other kit is set at 6-8-6-24, just like the third member of the series.

Said third member has a capacity of 4GB (it is composed of two 2GB modules) and the same clock and latency as the 6GB PC3-12800.

"We're elated to offer viscerally engaging products for our friends in the gaming and high performance sectors. We have many plans to cater to enthusiasts, and this kit release is just the tip of the iceberg." said Wade Shiflett, Mushkin, Inc. marketing director.

“These new high performance memory kits are available now at mushkin.com and our partners around the globe. Shortly, these kits will be bundled at newegg.com with Bethesda Softworks's "Fallout: New Vegas" PC video game titled for great savings,” he went on to saying.

The newcomers are meant to be used in high-end personal computers based on the Intel LGA 1366 or LGA 1156 platforms.

More kits with varying specifications are also said to be in the works, although nothing concrete has been mentioned about them so far. In fact, even the three existing solutions have yet to be gives prices, although they should, as already mentioned, start selling soon.
