Electronic Arts has shown off the first gameplay trailer for the new
Medal of Honor videogame at the Spike Video Game Awards, which took place last year, and since then the company has kept its silence about what they plan to do with the revived franchise.
While the new videogame will clearly be linked to Afghanistan and the current world wide war on terror, which the United States and its allies are fighting, the most important elements for the majority of gamers will be the features that distinguish it from its main rival, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 created by Infinity Ward and published by Activision.
But the information drought appears to be ending with the release of the new issues of the United Kingdom Official Xbox Magazine, which features an exclusive first look at the experience that the new Medal of Honor has to offer, complete with details related to the capabilities of the Tier One operatives, which will be featured and to how the multiplayer, which is developed by
DICE, an outfit best known for the Battlefield games, will be implemented.
One of the details being teased is that the game will allow the player to jump through more than one playable character as they progress through the campaign, with some of the sections of the single player permitting for lights to be shot out and for night vision to be used, suggesting that stealth might be emphasized to some extent.
There are also suggestions that the multiplayer element will bear at least some resemblance to the Call of Duty system, with melee attacks included and with limited sprinting. Other than that,
Medal of Honor is set to include the full equipment used by the Tier One operators with weapons and gadgets fully simulated and with the slang they use included.
