Supporting quad-band GPRS/EDGE modem class 12 with complete multimedia functions implemented

Sunplus mMobile Inc., a subsidiary held by Sunplus Technology, demonstrated earlier this week its SPW6400 reference design for multimedia GPRS/EDGE handsets at 2007 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas during January 8-11, 2007. SPW6400 offers quad-band GPRS/EDGE support with a rich set of multimedia features such as MP3, DSC, game, etc.

Sunplus mMobile's SPW6400 is a highly integrated SoC solution which combines the EDGE technology with high multimedia technology. The SPW6400, embeddes ARM9 core, supports quad-band GPRS/EDGE modem function at class 12, DigRF interface, and NAND flash, SD/MMC card, and USB2.0 FS. Most unique, the SPW6400 offers a complete set of multimedia functionalities, including camera image processing up to 3Mp, low-power MP3 playback, 64-channel polyphonic ring tone, H.263/MPEG-4 SP codec up to 30fps, and 2D graphic engine for native games.
