Apple might be making all its products touch-sensitive

The word these days is that up Apple's sleeve is multi-touch technology. This rumor seems to be spreading all over the web, so there may be a grain of truth in it. There would be many aspects to indicate such a move on Apple's part, and the technology is surely not unreachable or sci-fi (HP already has Touch Smart, and Apple is not likely to stay behind).

The facts that triggered these speculations concern the forthcoming launch of the iPhone that has touch sensitive display, the still-hidden innovations in Leopard, the delay of the new Apple Cinema Displays release. There have also been rumors of a "ProTools Killer" that says there will be no Logic 8 - successor of Logic 7 - but a new application for Leopard that will work with a new line of multi-touch displays.

Voices also claimed Apple is planning all sorts of upgrades for all its hardware, which could possibly include the adding of multi-touch technology to displays. Please keep in mind these are all rumors and speculations, Apple has made no such statements.

Steven Johnson, the author of 'Everything Bad is Good For You' and 'Emergence' has an interesting theory about how Apple will keep the symmetry in their line of products and align all to the forthcoming iPhone by introducing touch-screen technology for all of their products, including the iMac. To me, this sounds a little too much for the Cupertino-based company, but if there's anyone that can pull it off, it's Steve Jobs.

In a few months time we'll see if Apple thought this big and managed to keep up, but for now, we're stuck with speculations and wishful thinking. We'll keep you posted whenever we receive more 'reliable reports'.
