SymmetricDS, an open source software for multi-master database replication, filtered synchronization, or transformation across the network in a heterogeneous environment, is now at version 3.5.5.

SymmetricDS 3.5.5 supports multiple subscribers with one direction or bi-directional asynchronous data replication and uses technologies to replicate tables between relational databases.

Highlights of SymmetricDS 3.5.5:

• db.read.strings.as.bytes have been added in order to turn on functionality to better control character encoding on MySQL; • transform_table.target_table_name is now optional according the documentation; • When data is transformed, the old values are now retained; • The conflict detection mechanism USE_CHANGED_DATA is now able to specify which columns to ignore; • A null pointer in the log message that occurred when the initial load extract job is turned on and a table takes longer than 60 seconds to extract, has been fixed.
