Everyone has heard of MumboJumbo. They're premium casual games publishers who so happened to have made a very interesting announcement today. Apparently, they've signed with the Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group to develop a mass-market game based on the Emmy Award-winning television series "The Office." The game will be downloadable for the PC, PSP and DS, starting this fall.

"The cast and creators of 'The Office' have done a fantastic job delivering a show with a personality all its own," explained Bill Kispert, vice president and general manager, Interactive, Universal Pictures Digital Platforms Group. "MumboJumbo is an innovator in the casual games space, and developing a game with them that combines the quirky characters and humor of the show with a proven, addictive game mechanic we think will be welcomed by fans and casual game players alike."

"We are honored that NBC Universal has chosen us to be their partner for this exciting new project," said Mark Cottam, chief executive officer of MumboJumbo. "We look forward to working closely with their team to ensure that the thematic elements of 'The Office' are closely approximated in the development of the video game."

Just so everyone's on the same level here, the UK version of television situation comedy show was awarded in 2004 the Golden Globes for Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy and Best Performance by an Actor in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy (Ricky Gervais); 2002, 2003 and 2004 BAFTA TV awards for Situation Comedy and Best Comedy Performance (Ricky Gervais).

As you can imagine, MumboJumbo and NBC Universal's agreement doesn't stop with The Office. After releasing the funny title, the two companies plan to create even more titles, providing the same quality experience, further engaging fans of "The Office" in the franchise. And remember: it will be available for download on your PSP and DS handhelds, or PC this fall.
