Rumor has it that the 20-year-old Avril and Deryk Whibley (26) are to tie the knot this weekend in a secret ceremony in California.

Initially, the happy event was to take place at the end of this summer but too much media attention made the two lovers decide to speed things up.

Uninformed sources say that friends and family from both sides have already received invitations to the wedding and are fervently preparing to attend it.

Avril's bachelorette bash is said to have taken place at the end of June, ending with an all-night party in a hot club in Los Angeles amidst other celebrities.

Although no reports or statements concerning the wedding have been issued from either side, Avril and Deryk have started lately to come out in public together more often. The two rock stars hooked up in 2004, but knew each other for a few years before that. Lately, Avril has been spotted with a new wrist tattoo, showing a heart with a 'D' in the middle.

For such a retired and discrete couple, they sure do manage to capture the people's interest. If rumors are indeed true, we wish them all the best in the world.
