Mozilla has made a big announcement regarding its open web apps platform, it is going to start taking submissions from developers. That means that devs can start getting their web apps ready for distribution in the Mozilla Marketplace.
"Today, we are incredibly proud to announce that the Mozilla Marketplace will open for developer submissions next week during Mobile World Congress. If you are an app developer interested in distributing and monetizing your app across device and platform silos, you should submit your app to the Mozilla Marketplace," Mozilla
announced.
Mozilla plans to open up an app store that will allow developers to target several platform and devices. What's more, apps built for Mozilla's app store will be usable on any platform or browser that implements support for the specifications.
It's still too early and there are plenty of app stores out there, but Mozilla's looks to be the first and only open market for apps.
