Mozilla has released Thunderbird 31.1.1, an email and RSS client, and this is the second update in this branch, which is rather unusual.

The latest major Thunderbird release, 31.1, saw the introduction of a lot of features and fixes. These kinds of changes had been sorely missed and the devs managed to improve the application, even if it's no longer actively worked on.

Now, a couple of issues have been found in the Thunderbird 31.x branch and, apparently, they warranted an update, but the version number has changed very little. According to the changelog, an issue where mailing lists with spaces in their names couldn't be autocompleted has been fixed and an occasional startup crash has been corrected.

None of these issues seems to be very problematic, but the application has been updated nonetheless. If you are running Thunderbird in a Linux system, you will have to wait until it gets uploaded to your repository. You can also run the provided binary files, but that's not a viable solution.

More details about this release can be found in the official changelog. Don't forget to check out our review of the RSS function of Thunderbird. You can download the Thunderbird 31.1.1 source package right now from Softpedia.
