The Beta testing program for Firefox for iOS has begun

According to a recent TechCrunch article, Mozilla sent invitation requests to potential testers who would like to try out the upcoming Firefox for iOS app on their iPhone and iPad devices.

The invitation requests were in the form of a survey where users were asked about which iOS device they own, if they are using Firefox as their primary web browser, and about their general experience with iOS apps.

"We're looking for a few users to test Firefox for iOS before it's released to the public!" said Mozilla in the survey. "The only requirements are that you have an iOS device and that it's running iOS 8."

The respective user survey is no longer available at the moment of writing this article, but those of you interested in the upcoming version of the Mozilla Firefox web browser for iOS can sign up for a newsletter.

Firefox is coming soon to iOS

When attempting to sign up for Mozilla's mailing list for the iOS version of Mozilla Firefox, you will be redirected to a page entitled "Firefox is coming soon to iOS!" After signing up, you'll notice a message saying, "Thanks for your interest in the upcoming iOS version of Firefox. We’re pretty excited about it too!"

As Mozilla users ourselves, we can tell you that the idea of a Mozilla Firefox app for iOS sounds very appealing, and we can't wait for the web browser to become available on Apple's mobile operating system.

The fact of the matter is that we still can't believe Mozilla doesn't yet have a Firefox app for iOS, especially since they teased us with an iOS version of one of the world's most popular and free web browsers a long time ago.
