Users just have to upgrade the system in order to get the new version

Canonical has published details about a number of Firefox vulnerabilities in its Ubuntu 14.04 LTS and Ubuntu 12.04 LTS operating systems and released a new version of the Internet browser in the repositories.

A new Mozilla Firefox build is now upon us, and this time Ubuntu users got the new software pretty quickly in the repositories. All you have to do is to upgrade the system and you will also get the latest Firefox version.

According to the Ubuntu security report, “Atte Kettunen discovered a buffer overflow when interacting with WebAudio buffers. An attacker could potentially exploit this to cause a denial of service via application crash or execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user invoking Firefox.”

“David Chan and Gijs Kruitbosch discovered that web content could spoof UI customization events in some circumstances, resulting in a limited ability to move UI icons.”

And these are just two of the vulnerabilities found and fixed. For a more detailed description of the problems, you can check out Canonical's security notification.

Alternatively, you can download Mozilla Firefox 31 right now from Softpedia, but this is just the binary file and users won't be able to install it, just run it. It’s also possible that some of the add-ons will stop working altogether.
