Unresolved text rendering issues have workaround on Windows

Mozilla today released Firefox 27.0.1, a new stable version of its popular web browser for Mac, Windows, and Linux computers.

The update is not major, but Mozilla does have a few things to point out for users looking to download Firefox 27.0.1.

Apparently, the update was released with the sole purpose of addressing “stability issues with Greasemonkey and other JS that used ClearTimeoutOrInterval,” as well as a JS math correctness issue.

The creators of the browser also mention a few lingering flaws that remain to be addressed in a future release.

For example, there’s an unresolved issue involving moving Firefox to background while playing a flash video in full screen mode and then bringing it back to full view. Apparently, this action will cause the browser to freeze up.

Another problem that remains to be fixed is a text rendering issue on Windows 7 and Windows 8.1, and Mozilla says there’s a workaround for it but doesn’t detail any steps that the customer can follow.
