Not that this should come as any surprise to moviegoers, but word has got out that Hollywood is making at least one movie based on the life of the controversial Julian Assange of WikiLeaks. One of these projects is top priority, it has emerged.

As the debate on Assange’s actions continues to rage on, top Hollywood movie studios are getting ready to greenlight several projects inspired from his life.

One such project in particular is top priority, since it should get into production before Assange goes public with the particulars of his life, PageSix reports.

Granted, this is just a report for the time being, but word has it that the rush for a leading man to portray Assange has already begun. Casting is of the essence, to paraphrase a well-known saying.

“A movie about secret-sharing villain Julian Assange is being fast-tracked before he can leak his own life story. Assange has said he is penning a book that could become a screenplay,” PageSix writes.

“But Josephson Entertainment and Michelle Krumm Productions have stolen the WikiLeaks founder’s thunder by optioning the biography, ‘The Most Dangerous Man in the World,’ by Andrew Fowler, who interviewed Assange last year,” says the same e-zine.

“Krumm said the book would become a ‘thought-provoking thriller’,” PageSix informs. Several big names have already been thrown in as potential candidates for the lead.

These include British actor Paul Bettany, Liam Neeson and even Tilda Swinton. Though that last choice may seem a bit odd since she’s a woman, not few are the voices online saying that she could actually pull this off.

An equally good contender is considered Bettany, who also bears a striking resemblance to Assange. Liam Neeson is deemed too old for the part by some.

Other possible contenders named on celebrity blogs include Michael Fassbender, Viggo Mortensen, Cillian Murphy and Ralph Fiennes, these last two having made quite a reputation for themselves by playing creepy yet genial guys on film.
