14 DAY TRIAL // It may very well be that the recent craze surrounding the London Olympic Games is what sparked a sudden interest in actually producing this movie, but it seems that “Beached” could soon make it all the way to the big screen.
Although the first idea to make this movie dates back to 1997, work had been rather slow in advancing. Still, most people claim that they cannot wait for the movie to be released, mainly because of its peculiar plot line.
Sources say this cinematic production focuses on a chubby kid who somehow ends up being raised by whales after falling off a boat, and who grows to become an Olympic swimmer.
If this sounds familiar, maybe that is because Rudyard Kipling's “The Jungle Book” (starring Mowgli, a boy who calls a pack of wolves his family) basically revolved around the same idea.
From where we stand, maybe this movie will also help raise some awareness with respect to whales as an endangered species, and therefore provide some support for on-going conservation efforts.
