Watch out for new vehicles in Motostorm: Pacific Rift, when you start the racing game after May 14. Sony is saying that players will get a new downloadable content pack every week via the regular PlayStation Store update that takes place on Thursdays. In each pack, players will get new paint jobs for three vehicles with the end result being a new set of looks for all the stuff you can drive in the game.

Sony is also talking about the addition of Microbadges, which are a bit like Trophies but also somewhat different. They are awarded for certain player achievements and are only displayed when playing the game online.

Basically, they are a way of bragging about how good you are to the other competitors. Microbadges will be displayed under the Online ID and, initially, three will be shown. You can get more slots for Microbadges by gaining online ranks and Sony is saying that a total of 40 can be accumulated.

Some of the Microbadges announced are: Gold Festival, awarded for completing Pacific Rift Festival with all Gold medals; Immortal, for those who win an Online Ranked race without wrecking; Flame and Fortune, awarded when a player has 20 Boost explosion wins; Time Attack Master is a sign that the player has a record of impressive Time Attack time on any Leaderboard; Supreme Victor, given for winning any Online or Offline race by a margin of 15 seconds.

Motorstorm: Pacific Rift has already received a new game update, which is set to fix some of the issues players have had with it. The short cut that was available in Sugar Rush is there no more, and a respawn point also on Sugar Rush has been fixed.
