Mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility, is expected to bring to shelves in the near future a series of tablet PCs that would run under Google's Android operating system, featuring various screen sizes, ranging from 7-inch to 11-inch, at least one of which should be unveiled at CES in Las Vegas this week. The handset vendor already touted the upcoming availability of such a device, which is expected to be unveiled no later than tomorrow, January 6th, at the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show.

According to Motorola, this product would be situated at the top of the tablet PC evolutionary chain, though no specific info on it was unveiled until now.

Sanjay Jha, chairman and chief executive, Motorola Mobility, confirmed recently that the company plans on heavily focusing on the development of Android-powered tablet computers, a recent article on FT.com reads.

The news site states that Motorola might launch more than just one tablet PC that packs Google's mobile operating system on board, and that they would be differentiated by their screen size.

Apparently, the company plans on benefiting from the increasing interest tablet PCs have enjoyed lately, mainly after the launched of the iPad, Apple's first such device.

Since Motorola has delivered some pretty appealing devices running under Android, the company is also expected to choose this mobile platform for the forthcoming slates.

Some even suggest that the tight relationship Motorola and Google have might enable the former to launch tablets running under the next flavor of the OS, called Honeycomb, one or two months before other manufacturers would be able to.

One of these devices might be aimed at video consumption, offering support for Verizon's FiOS digital pay-television service, Financial Times suggests.

January 6th is only tomorrow, and most of the necessary details we are looking for to learn on Motorola's plans for the tablet PC segment of the market are expected to be unveiled at the aforementioned press conference set for CES then.

For those out of the loop, we should notes that, starting with January 4th, Motorola Mobility operates as an independent company, after completing spinning-off from Motorola, Inc.
