Motorola has already shown to the world that it can launch pretty interesting devices, not to mention that some of them come with Google's Android operating system on board, and it seems that some more will land on the market sooner rather than later. Following the DROID with its large touchscreen and robotic looks, or the Backflip with the backwards flipping QWERTY keyboard, the company seems set to launch an Android-based phone that will include support for iDEN networks, namely the Motorola i1.

We already spotted the handset a few times before into the wild, under the form of Motorola Opus One, yet now it becomes increasingly clearer that it will actually be called i1 when available for purchase. Moreover, the guys over at Engadget also came up with new details on the phone, including the fact that it will actually include a 5-megapixel photo snapper (a 3MP camera was previously rumored), and that it will also pack Opera Mini as its default browser.

Opera announced earlier today the release of a beta flavor of its Opera Mini 5 for handsets powered by Google's Android OS, and it does make sense for i1 to sport this software solution, that's for sure. Not to mention that the handset will also arrive with the MotoBlur user experience on board, which should make it even more appealing to users. For what it's worth, Boost Mobile customers and Sprint Direct Connect users will certainly have a great device to choose as soon as the Motorola i1 lands on the market.

Other users are also expected to be able to enjoy the capabilities of this handset, including TELUS' in Canada, as rumor has it that the Motorola i1 will be launched by this carrier as well. And the phone will also come with a 3.1-inch HVGA capacitive touchscreen display, accelerometer, Wi-Fi, A-GPS, Enterprise email and more. Hopefully, Motorola won't be late with announcing the device officially, so stay tuned for more info on the matter.
