Mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility is expected to be among the first companies in the world to come to the market with quad-core application processors inside, some of the latest rumors around the Internet suggest.

According to the news, the new devices should arrive on shelves as Motorola Bullet and Jet, while being powered by NVIDIA’s new Tegra 3 (Kal-El) quad-core processor.

The processor was already unveiled to the world, and the first devices to run under it might land on shelves sometime in the first quarter of the next year, which means that the two phones could be released at that time as well.

Before anything else, we should have a closer look at the two upcoming quad-core handsets, which emerged over at Droid-Life.

The Motorola Bullet is reportedly headed to the market with a 4.3-inch qHD screen, along with around 1GB DDR2 of RAM (most probably, 1.5GB), and 16GB of on-board storage.

Moreover, the upcoming mobile phone should also include NFC capabilities (Near Field Communication), as well as a 12-megapixel photo snapper.

As for the Motorola Jet, rumor has it that it should pack a 4-inch qHD screen, along with 1 or 1.5GB of DDR2 RAM, 16GB on-board storage, and the same 12MP camera.

Basically, the two phones seem to sport about the same specs, only that Bullet would include a larger screen, while Jet would add a QWERTY keyboard into the mix.

For the time being the rest of the specs that the two would include was shrouded in mystery, and the actual existence of the two is also only a rumor.

However, it seems that there are great chances that the two would actually be included in Motorola's roadmap at a certain point, though it remains to be seen when exactly they might arrive.

One other thing that remains to be seen is how well the handsets would perform in terms of battery life, since the quad-core processor would certain need a lot of juice.

Hopefully, more on the matter would emerge soon, especially since the first products to pack NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 (Kal-El) quad-core processor are expected to become official before the end of the ongoing year.
