A new Android-based handset was officially unveiled today at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, the Motorola QUENCH with MOTOBLUR. According to the company, the fresh device comes around with touchscreen capabilities on a 3.1-inch high-resolution display, while also including appealing features that all users want to have inside their Android phone, such as the Adobe Flash Lite, or great navigation capabilities.

The leading mobile phone maker also revealed that the handset would become available for purchase during the first quarter of the ongoing year, and it should land in the US next month exclusively via T-Mobile USA as the Motorola CLIQ XT. As the company notes, this is the eighth Android-powered mobile phone it launches on the global market.

“As we continue to expand Motorola’s portfolio of Android-powered devices, we remain committed to delivering more of what people want from their handheld devices in easier ways,” said Sanjay Jha, co-CEO of Motorola and CEO of Motorola Mobile Devices and Home business. “QUENCH with MOTOBLUR showcases Motorola’s design heritage by offering a compelling differentiation from the traditional Android experience, giving people an easier way to have more messaging, more Web and more music.”

When it comes to the specs the fresh Motorola QUENCH will hit the market with, we can count a full touch-screen display, coupled with a 5.0-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus and LED flash, support for 3G frequencies, Wi-Fi connectivity options,

Bluetooth capabilities, aGPS, FM radio, voice-activated search (English only), access to the Android Market for application downloads, support for Adobe Flash Lite, as well as a pocket-friendly design and the inclusion of Swype technology, for faster typing.

At the same time, the handset comes with Motorola's MOTOBLUR solution, which is meant to sync contacts, posts, messages, photos and much more from various sources, including Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, Gmail, work and personal e-mail and Last.FM, while automatically delivering them to the homescreen. Moreover, the handset also comes with new style of media player that offers fast access to the MP3 store for buying and downloading tracks, or to TuneWiki, SoundHound, GoTV, and YouTube.
