Motorola's Android-based tablet PC has made it into the headlines quite a few times before, and emerged in various leaks from Verizon's systems lately, where it sports the model number MOTMZ600, it seems.

One of the latest leaks comes from Droid-Life in the form of a cached VZW page on which the MOTMZ600 is listed with the name of STRINGRAY next to it, suggesting that this could be either the device's codename or the moniker Motorola and Verizon might bring it on shelves with.

The device was spotted this way on a Spanish Verizon site. Motorola and Verizon are mum on the Android tablet, but it shouldn't be too long before the official announcement is made, especially if the slate is indeed set to become available for purchase in 2010.

In case there are some who might have missed previous reports on Motorola's tablet PC, we should note that the rumored specs list of this device includes a 10-inch touchscreen display, complemented by an NVIDIA Tegra2 chip, a photo snapper on the back and a front-facing camera for video chat, and by FiOS capabilities.

Stingray, if this would be it actual name, should run under Google's Android 3.0 Gingerbread operating system, which is also set to land later this year. According to IntoMobile, the mobile platform would be optimized for tablet devices.

There are still a wide range of details on Motorola's Android tablet that would need be unveiled, including the exact release date, the pricing or whether it would be locked to the carrier's airwaves, just as Dell Streak is, or not.
