Motorola Mobility and Nextel have just announced the upcoming availability of the Motorola i867 Ferrari in Brazil. The smartphone will be available for purchase via Nextel official sales channels for 740 USD (605 EUR) outright.

Furthermore, customers who cannot afford to pay such a high amount upfront can grab the smartphone for the promotional price of 395 USD (320 EUR) with a data plan.

PTT (Push-To-Talk) and Motorola’s iDEN technology are the phone’s main selling points, but Motorola i867 Ferrari also features an outstanding design inspired by the Ferrari 458.

The Motorola i867 is ideal for those who love cars and the quality, design, concept and exclusiveness associated with Ferrari,” said Fernando Modé, Nextel marketing manager.

This is not the first Push To Talk smartphone launched by Motorola in South America, but it will surely be the most expensive.

Motorola i867 Ferrari is powered by Android platform, though we’re not sure whether or not this one runs Ice Cream Sandwich operating system or an earlier version.

However, given the fact that the smartphone features three touch sensitive keys, we suspect Motorola i867 Ferrari will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich out of the box.

The smartphone sets itself apart from other devices in its range thanks to its superb design. According to Motorola, “a red back cover in high relief with air intakes, evoking the hood of the exclusive automobile.”

Moreover, the software of the phone has been packed with special wallpapers and ringtones. In addition, customers who purchase the smartphone will receive an exclusive Ferrari kit with key ring, leather case, sticker and vehicle charger in the sales package.

Motorola i867 Ferrari sports a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display, a 3-megapixel rear camera, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

In addition to its differentiated, innovative design, the new smartphone enhances the way users manage their lives, with the practicality of PTT and Android-based technologies,” says Wagner Mendonca, iDEN sales director, Motorola Mobility Brazil.
