Motorola i1 Lands at SouthernLINC Wireless

SouthernLINC Wireless and Motorola, Inc. recently announced plans to release the newly unveiled Motorola i1, the first Push To Talk Android-based smartphone on the Integrated Digital Enhanced Network (iDEN). The handset is expected to become available at all SouthernLINC Wireless sales and service locations, as well as authorized dealers and online on the company's website in the second quarter of the ongoing year.

The new Motorola i1 comes to the market with a touchscreen display and with a solid built that meets Military specifications for protection against dust, shock, vibration and blowing rain. At the same time, the smartphones sports rich multimedia features, multitasking capabilities, as well as Push To Talk communication, coupled with Wi-Fi connectivity. Moreover, the phone is capable of delivering an enhanced Web browsing and messaging experience.

“As we continue to expand our product portfolio, the upcoming launch of the Android-powered Motorola i1 marks a major milestone for SouthernLINC Wireless,” Bob Dawson, president and CEO of SouthernLINC Wireless, commented on the new announcement. “We are excited to offer our customers a modern, touch screen phone that marries our premier Push To Talk two-way radio service with highly-desirable multimedia features and thousands of available applications and widgets for personal and business use.”

The Android-based Motorola i1 further includes a 5-megapixel photo snapper with flash and video recording capabilities, Bluetooth connectivity, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space, USB port with a drag and drop feature (for fast transfer of files, such as pictures, videos, music and ringtones, from a PC to the handset's memory card), music player, video player, and support for Google mobile services.

Not to mention that the new device has been designed to keep users connected at all times with office and personal information, including email, calendar, contacts and more. At the same time, the mobile phone comes with multiple keyboard options, including Swype, and enables users to efficiently manage their contacts, Motorola notes.
