Motorola RAZR i has been officially introduced in a few European countries, but also in Brazil. Today, the US-based company announces the smartphone is available for purchase in Chile.

Android enthusiasts who wish to give this mid-range smartphone a try should know the RAZR i is exclusive to Claro. The carrier currently offers the Motorola RAZR i for free on Plan Multimedia 500.

Built by Motorola in collaboration with Intel, the RAZR i is equipped with a 2 GHz single-core Intel Atom processor, which is complemented by 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory (5GB user available).

The smartphone is powered by Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich platform at launch, but Motorola specifically stated that the RAZR i would receive a Jelly bean update in the following months.

Another strong point of the device is the 8-megapixel rear camera that features LED flash, autofocus and full HD (1080p) video recording. In addition, the phone sports a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

“An instant launch camera that takes 10 pictures in less than a second and Web pages that load blazingly fast on a device that’s the perfect balance of screen size that fits in the palm of your hand. RAZR i delivers all that as well as it’s the first Intel-fast smartphone in Latin America,” said Fernando Sanchez, general manager, Motorola Mobility Chile.

Furthermore, Motorola RAZR i boasts a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced capacitive touchscreen display that supports 540 x 960 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

Design-wise, the smartphone follows the same sleek form factor of the RAZR series. Motorola RAZR i has been built with premium protective materials, such as “diamond cut aircraft-grade aluminum frame” DuPont KEVLAR strong for the back, and splash-resistant coating for the circuits inside.

Motorola RAZR i drains energy from a high-capacity 2000 mAh Li-Ion battery, which should provide up to 20 hours of talk time.
