Motorola Inc. has signed a partnership with Cisco Systems, which will enable the cell phone producer to provide a mobile communication solution which will use the WiFi capabilities within the companies' buildings, VoIP services, but also classic support for cellular telephony.
By
combining the key elements of cellular telephony, 802.11 wireless networks, and also of fixed networks within companies, Motorola and Cisco are planning to obtain a unique mobile communication solution which will be accessible from anywhere and by anyone.
The communication solution proposed by the two companies will be based on 802.11 and also on classic solutions of cellular telephony and it will be available as an extension to the existent IP Cisco CallManager system. The smartphone proposed by the two companies will significantly cut down communication expenses and it will also improve security conditions by simply activating the IP voice solution.
The services, which will be available starting with next year, outline the growing trend among terminal producers to include WiFi compatible into their products.
