Although Google is rumored to have abandoned the X Phone project, Motorola appears set to push the new series of devices beyond the previously rumored limits.

According to the latest reports on the matter, the company is also considering the launch of a smaller edition of the X Phone, one that might be dubbed “X M.”

Motorola is planning a similar move as with the RAZR series, which also saw a RAZR M device being brought to shelves, info coming from an “inside source” suggests, a recent article on HotHardware reads.

While no specific info on the X M Phone has been provided, the specs of the larger Motorola X Phone appear to have already been confirmed.

The device is said to arrive on shelves with a 4.8-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a 1280 x 720 pixels resolution, as well as with 2GB of internal memory.

Unfortunately, no specific info on the application processor packed inside the device has been provided, though the smartphone is said to be a bit slower than the Galaxy S III when AnTuTu benchmarking results are compared.

The Motorola X phone is also rumored to be running under Google’s Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean operating system. However, it might be released with a newer version of the platform, maybe the recently rumored Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS.

The Motorola X Phone is said to be slated for launch on Verizon’s network at first, though previous reports suggested that it might land at multiple carriers. Motorola’s upcoming smartphones are also said to arrive on shelves with a certain Droid Blast feature packed inside, one that would provide users with the possibility to share photos and other content with friends nearby with a simple gesture.

The feature will also arrive with a series of other sharing and privacy settings, it seems, including the option to limit sharing to a Wi-Fi or mobile network.

Unfortunately, no specific info on when these devices might be officially unveiled has been provided as of now, though Motorola might make the move soon, so stay tuned to learn the news.
