Mobile Phone maker Motorola has recently been rumored to plan the release of a successor for its Moto X handset in the not-too-distant future, and the device appears to have made an appearance online in the GFXBench database.

Said smartphone has been spotted on the benchmarking website as Motorola XT912A, yet the hardware specifications listed next to it suggest that it might indeed be the aforementioned handset, which should land on the market as Moto X+1.

Moto X was released last year with model number XT912 attached to it, which suggests even more that there is a tight connection between the new device and last year’s flagship.

As Phandroid notes, there is also the chance that this model number would disguise a different phone from Motorola, such as a DROID Ultra sequel, though it appears more likely that this is the Moto X+1.

The aforementioned listing on GFXBench also unveils that Motorola might pack the upcoming handset with a 5.2-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a full HD resolution.

Considering the fact the Motor X was released with a 4.7-inch HD display, the larger screen appears to be a welcome addition to the lineup.

On top of that, Motorola also appears set to pack the new smartphone with a better processor inside, and the benchmarking website unveils a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU as powering the new phone.

Moto X was launched with a dual-core CPU inside, powering Motorola’s own chipset, which actually included some other CPUs as well. The new chip should be both faster and more powerful than the original.

Moto X+1, provided that this is indeed the phone behind the XT912A codename, will also arrive on shelves with Adreno 330 graphics, as well as with 2GB of RAM, it seems.

On the back, the new smartphone will feature a 12-megapixel camera, which should deliver a better imaging experience when compared to the 10MP camera in Moto X. Moreover, a 2MP camera will be present on the front of the device right from the start, it seems.

Moreover, said listing unveils that the upcoming mobile phone features 24GB of internal memory, and that it is running under the Android 4.4.3 KitKat operating system.

All in all, these specs suggest that the Motorola XT912A has all the chances to arrive on the market as the successor of Moto X, although no official confirmation on the matter has been provided as of now. Hopefully, more on it will arrive soon, so stay tuned to learn the news.
