Motorola has recently announced the availability of the Android-based smartphone Motorola XT800 in India. The handset is quad-band (GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900) network compatible, but it also works with CDMA/EVDO networks. Motorola XT800 is the first Android GSM/CDMA compatible device available in India.
Also known as Motorola GLAM, the XT800 was initially launched in China, in January 2010 and recently got upgraded with a faster processor and launched again last month in the same country, as Motorola XT800+.
It is unclear if the new device launched in India is the upgraded version or the original
XT800. Still, both smartphones offer GSM/CDMA capabilities, as well as the Android operating system.
Motorola XT800 is powered by a TI OMAP3430 550MHz processor and runs on the Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform out-of-the box.

“The new smartphone offers a mobile Internet experience with WiFi/WAPI, a capability for smart professionals who need to connect with business, family and friends anywhere, at any time. It also features high-definition multimedia features that enable you to capture every momentous occasion,” said Motorola Mobility India Head Faisal Siddiqui.
It boasts a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, image stabilization and video recording capabilities (D1 720x480@24fps).
