Motorola XT316 is yet another Android-based mobile phone that the leading handset vendor has decided to bring to the market in Taiwan, which should be released on shelves as soon as tomorrow, July 22nd.

Featuring a 2.8-inch touchscreen and a full-QWERTY keypad, the new device will offer users more convenient methods to input text on it.

Moreover, the new mobile phone was designed so as to bring social messaging capabilities at the users' fingertips, all at the suggested price of NT$7,490.

The handset runs under Android 2.2 (Froyo) and sports access to various Google Mobile Services, including Gmail, YouTube and Google Talk, as well as the Android Market, for downloading applications.

“With a fun, beautiful design and a great package of social media options, Motorola XT316 gives young, busy users the smartphone experience they want at a great price,” said Ritchie Ma, general manager of Motorola Mobility Taiwan Limited, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

“The combination of the physical QWERTY keyboard, the touchscreen display and access to the entertaining apps and games available from Android Market, set the Motorola XT316 apart from other smartphones.”

The new device also comes with Motorola's exclusive Moto Switch user interface, which provides users with fast switching between work and friends-oriented themes.

It also comes with 3G and WiFi connectivity capabilities on board, as well as with 3.5mm audio jack, FM radio, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The specifications list of this handset also includes 512MB Flash ROM, 256MB RAM, Webkit Browser, a micro-USB port, a 3-megapixel photo snapper, and GPS/A-GPS for location-based services.

The Motorola XT316 is powered by a 1390mAh battery that can deliver up to 231 minutes of talk time or up to 394 hours of standby time.

As stated above, the new Motorola XT316 is set to hit the shelves in Taiwan on July 22, 2011, featuring a recommended retail price of NT$7,490.
